How do I contact you?
You can call my office number (720) 909-8008 or email me at jd@awakenedhopecounseling.org. In addition, you can send a fax to me at (720) 573-0023.
What are your office hours?
My office hours are typically Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 9 a.m. – 7 p.m.
If you can’t find an available hour that meets your needs, feel free to call me (720) 909-8008, and maybe we can work something out.
The building doors may automatically lock after 6 p.m. or earlier on weekends. If the door is locked, please call me (720) 909-8008.
Is there anything I need to do before my first visit?
Yes, if you have scheduled the first appointment, you should have access to your patient portal. If not, contact me.
You should have received an email reminder at the address you provided prompting you to complete a few electronic documents and forms before the first session. (Try checking the spam folder if you don’t see it.) Depending on how much detail you include, this should take you 15 to 20 minutes.
How do I find your office?
My office is at 19641 E Parker Square Drive, Suite G, Parker, CO 80134. This medical building is on the SE corner of S Parker Road and Hilltop Road. You can walk to the office easily if you park in the NE corner of the lot.
Suite G is associated with AHoudek Counseling. I lease office space from her. Look for my door sign nearby, Awakened Hope Counseling, LLC. When you see the sign, you are in the right spot.
If the building door is locked, please call (720) 909-8008.
How do I find my patient portal again?
Every client has a HIPPA-secure patient portal, which they can access by signing in here: https://jesse-dickinson.clientsecure.me/sign-in.
After entering your email address (which matches your patient portal email address), check your inbox (and spam folder if necessary). You will receive a temporary link to your patient portal.
How do I schedule an appointment?
First-time clients can call me directly to request an appointment at (720) 909-8008.
I encourage established clients to self-schedule their appointments by signing into their patient portal at https://jesse-dickinson.clientsecure.me/sign-in. After entering your email address (which matches your patient portal email address), check your email inbox (and spam folder if necessary). There, you will receive a link that will direct you to my office calendar.
If you can’t find an appointment time that works for you and need something sooner than 24 hours from now, call me at (720) 909-8008, and I may be able to accommodate you.
Can I send you a text message?
No, my office number does not accept text messages.
What can I expect on my first visit?
After our initial (free) 20-minute consultation, we will schedule an intake appointment/first session. I use this appointment to gather more background information from you. The more I understand your story, family, medical history, etc., the better my recommendations and interventions will be.
If your first appointment with me is in person, come right in during the appointment hour. I’ll be waiting for you with the door propped open. There is no need to check-in. If you arrive early, you may wish to sit in your vehicle, as my office does not have a waiting room. If my office door is closed, I may still be in session with another client. Hang tight; I’ll be right there.
It’s normal to feel nervous or anxious, and I always empower you to share or not share based on what makes you comfortable. After asking you many questions, by the end of our first session, I will usually share some of my insights, recommendations, and the suggested therapy plan moving forward.
Since our first visit is more of a clinical interview, some may need more visits with me to decide if I’ll be a good fit for them. Trust your gut and ask me anything you’re curious about.
How long does a therapy session last?
Usually, sessions for individuals are 50 minutes and 90 minutes for most couples therapy sessions.
The therapy hour is 50 minutes, which allows time for administrative documentation. I occasionally recommend 90-minute therapy sessions for individuals, which are more common for my EMDR and couples therapy sessions. Ask me if a 90-minute session would be better for you.

What will we do in my therapy sessions?
This can vary from person to person, but I spend a lot of time with my clients, talking and processing through unconscious beliefs and thought patterns. Together, we’ll work on challenging and reworking these thoughts to give you relief and have better results.
We might work together on designing behavioral challenges or goals that build confidence and deep insight and then discuss the outcomes. Sometimes, we discuss and practice skills that help you develop mindfulness and emotional strength.
When I help my clients work through traumatic memories and experiences – this may take multiple sessions – I guide them through a structured process that begins with learning tools and skills for developing confidence and readiness and ends with a thoughtful check-in process to review their progress and positive impact. We will celebrate your growth and improvement and adjust the therapy pacing as needed.
